Final Message After the Internment of Pope Francis
by Kat Ulrike
He is gone from the sight of this world, but never from the hearts of its people.
As it is written: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
Francisco, servant of servants, bore the cross in silence and in song, walking with the broken, lifting the fallen, blessing the unseen.
His hands once raised in prayer now rest upon eternity,
as heaven opens wide its gates: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)
Though the earth claims his bones, his spirit soars beyond the world's mourning,
woven into the living breath of the Church,
into every heart that dares still to hope.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)
This note do not say goodbye, Holy Father, but rather say: lead still, from the mystery where he dwell,
until meet again —
where there are no more tears,
no more shadows,
only the fullness of Light.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more.” (Revelation 21:4)
Amen.
